Lubbock, Texas has an ace up it's sleeve.

Lubbock Thai Chef

It was thought that Tahn Rittiluechai from Choo-Chai had hung up his chef's apron. I guess you can't keep a good cook down, because he's gone from his own restaurant to assisting at Meals On Wheels. Little did anyone know that their meals were being cooked up my a local celebrity chef.

Lubbock Chef Now Cooks For Charity

The gravitas of what Tahn is doing is reflected in that face that 19th Street construction basically affected his business so negatively that he decided to sell. In more plain terms, construction in Lubbock made life pretty hard on him, and he still decided to give back to the city. It takes a big man to take a hit like that and still come back with love in his heart.

Lubbock Chef Is Cookin'!

According to our source, Tahn has been quietly working behind the scenes at Meals On Wheels for a couple of months now, generally donating 2-3 days a week of his time to helping prepare meals. While the meal recipients may not be receiving Thai style meals, the staff was recently treated to one. Imagine what a treat that was, and a great reward for all the hard work they do!

Lubbock Chef Surprised

This may all be unwanted attention, after all, good works are best done in private. Let it be known that it was one of Tahn's co-workers who was so proud to be working alongside him that he wanted it to be known. Thanks to Tahn for being a local hero, an all-around good guy, and a local fixture.
