Long Running Lubbock Business Quietly And Abruptly Closed
A long-running Lubbock business that brought me delight and joy closed... an entire month ago. And I only learned about the closure yesterday.
"Well, if you loved the business so much, why did it take you so long to notice?" Good question, but I can defend myself a bit.
It was a special occasion business. The kind you only think about a few times a year- birthdays, anniversaries, etc. It was Edible Arrangements. I received a nice one not too long ago.

And as far as I can find, no warning or official announcement was made anywhere. I only found out when I went to Gamestop (our locations very luckily spared from a recent mass closure across Texas).
I noticed a realtor-style padlock on the door of Edible Arrangements. That's never a good sign. So I did a Google search and found it was marked "Permanently Closed."
I still wasn't 100% convinced, so I searched the LBK Foodies group (they seem to know everything). And found this post:
Does anyone know what happened to Edible Arrangements? I placed an order last night, and everything seemed fine. However, this morning, I was unable to contact them. Later, Google indicated that they were temporarily closed, and when I contacted corporate, they informed me that they were permanently closed as of this morning.

After that, I am completely convinced. However, it could come back sometime in the future. It's a unique offering unlike anything else in town- even if you only think about it a few times a year.
