A Fort Worth pay-what-you-can restaurant is set to open its second location, proving that the concept works well enough to keep the ball rolling.

Wouldn't it be great if Lubbock had a restaurant like that?

If you aren't familiar with this type of restaurant, here's how it works in Fort Worth:

Customers are given the option to "pay what they can afford, pay what they'd typically pay, or pay what they'd typically pay plus a little extra to help a neighbor in need."

I love the idea of helping your neighbors and community out just by paying a little extra when you are able to. You never know when you might be a few dollars short on your meal, too. It all comes out in the wash, right?

As far as I know, Lubbock has never had this type of restaurant. Someone, please correct me if I'm wrong. Don't you think the city could benefit from something like this? I do.

At the Fort Worth restaurant, they also have family-style dining, something I also love. It's a great way to get to know people in town you may never have met otherwise. At the end of the day, we are all the same, and hunger is hunger.

What do you think about the idea of a pay-what-you-can restaurant in Lubbock? Do you think it would be successful? I'd love to hear from you. Leave me a comment on this article or email me at Chrissy.Covington@townsquaremedia.com.
