Conn’s HomePlus Files For Bankruptcy, These Texas Locations Will Close
Another big national retailer has hit a rough patch. Conn's HomePlus is a 134-year-old furniture and electronics store has filed for bankruptcy. Conn's currently has 170 locations throughout the United States, but according to a report from CNN, nearly half of its stores will be closing.
And more job losses and closures could come. According to CNN, a Conn's spokesperson said that the company will "continues to have ongoing discussions with potential buyers to sell all or parts of the business and preserve jobs.”
Why is Conn's Filing for Bankruptcy?
Conn's points to poor sales and the economy as reasons why bankruptcy and the closing of stores was needed. According to USA Today, the retailer, based in Texas, said that revenue was down 7.8% year over year and that the company had a net loss of nearly $77 million dollars.
Which Texas Conn's Locations Are Closing?
Conn's will be closing many locations across the United States. That includes 18 stores in Florida and nine stores in Texas. Below are the stores in Texas that are currently slated to close.

- Houston: 11051 Northwest Freeway
- Webster: 1020 West NASA Road #266
- Austin: 5431 N. Interstate 35
- Fort Worth: 4200 S. Freeway Suite 1740
- Dallas: 11250 North Central Expy
- Lewisville: 2422 S. Stemmons Fwy
- Texarkana: 2315 Richmond Road
- Wichita Falls: 3915-A Kell Blvd
Conn's currently has 80 locations, including Distribution Centers, in Texas. The hope is to find a buyer for the remaining locations.
