It's a snow day across Lubbock, the South Plains, and into the Panhandle. In many areas we have seen enough snow for kids to make snowmen, to have snowball fights, and we have seen more than enough snow to delay travel on the roads.

Going into yesterday it was predicted that Lubbock would see 3-4 inches of snow while cities north of Lubbock and into the Panhandle would see 5-6 inches of snow. So how did the predictions go? In some places, the predictions were spot on. For instance, as of Noon on Tuesday, of offices of the National Weather Service in Lubbock had see 4.8 inches. But at the airport as of Noon, 7 inches of snow had fallen.

According to the National Weather Service, Brownfield has seen 2 inches of snow, Canyon has seen 4-5 inches of snow, with Clarendon checking in at 5 inches of snow. Those in Levelland reported 3.6 inches of snow.

While roads inside the City of Lubbock are wet, they are fine this afternoon to drive on. Still, take your time as there may be some slick spots while driving around and Wednesday morning could see some areas of ice.
