Truth is always stranger than fiction.

Consider, for example, the tale of Joseph Grams in Texas. See, Grams is a man who bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain bald character on Breaking Bad. And much like his doppelganger, Gram found himself at odds with law enforcement.

With two felony arrest warrants out of Falls County in Texas, he was a wanted man.

But a wanted man with a plan.

The Setup

He placed a call to Galveston Police Department, stating he was stranded in the Gulf of Mexico in a tiny kayak. He had been pulled out to sea, he explained and he feared he would meet his untimely, watery end soon. He urged the officers to act soon if he was to be rescued.

However, Grams was never at the Galveston Coast--much less swept out to sea in a leaky kayak.

The Red Herring

This call was meant to have himself declared dead when his body was never found, or at the very least, to give him plenty of time to plan his next great escape.

The Galveston Police and U.S. Coast Guard both began scouring the coast in efforts to find Grams or his body.

So, that means he had plenty of time to plan his great escape, right? Maybe a one-way ticket to Greece? Perhaps moving to Ireland and retire as a sheepherder?

Well, what Grams actually did was a little less... dramatic.

The Downfall

Falls County police, coming up empty handed in their search of the gulf, decided to check out his house in the tiny unincorporated community of Reagan, Texas. And much to their surprise was an all too familiar sight.

There Grams was, wearing nothing but his favorite briefs.

The Falls County Sheriff's office put the Walter White lookalike in handcuffs as he was. The photo posted on their Facebook page was reminiscent of bad decisions made in arrogance while sporting spandex undergarments.

His plan started perfectly, but he either gave up or got distracted with a new spider tattoo. Whatever the reason, he was placed into custody where he'll probably serve a few more sentences on top of his two felony warrants.

Tips to Prevent Spider Bites

No one likes to get bug bites, especially from spiders. After all, we're told from a young age that some spiders are deadly. Besides that, they can be uncomfortable and swell up.

But there are ways to help prevent yourself from getting bit in the first place. Here are ten tips from the Washington State Department of Health.
