In 2022 in Lubbock, there should did seem to be a lot of drive-by shootings. Whether it was related to gangs, drugs, or random crime, guns were pulled a lot last year on Lubbock streets.

Lubbock Police are still investigating two drive-bye shootings that were fatal last year according to KAMC. In one of the cases from August 15, 2022 a woman was killed as bullets hit her home and went through a wall striking her as she was sitting in her recliner.

August 15, 2022, a drive-by shooting on East Colgate left 69-year-old Margie Johnson dead.

According to a police report obtained by Everythinglubbock.com, Johnson was sitting on her recliner chair watching tv when she was struck by a bullet that came from the street.

The second case Lubbock Police are investigating is from September 27 and the death of Jaden Ruiz at the Boston Creek Apartments.

According to a police report obtained by Everythinglubbock.com, the suspect got onto the property and fired the gun through a window.

The officer that responded to the call said they found multiple bullet holes in the living room wall.

As the officer continued to investigate the scene the officer found Ruiz in a bedroom suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

KAMC reports that police are still searching for suspects in both cases and need the public's help. If you have any information call Crime Line at 806-741-1000.

These Texas Children Went Missing In December

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) says these twelve kids from Texas were reported missing in 2022 and are still missing as of January 4, 2023.
