The Walmart Wishlist: Texans Want These Back in the Store
Walmart, that word will either make a person smile or make them go off on a tangent.
Why is the world so polarized when it comes to Walmart? A lot of times, Walmart is the only choice a person has when it comes to shopping but over the years, the shopping experience has been less than enjoyable.
Here are some things Texans wish Walmart would bring back
Bring Back Cashiers
Most people don't want to check themselves out. It's annoying because most people shopping have a job and being a cashier/checker is not their career of choice. Plus, when something messes up, you have to flag down the one Walmart person watching the self-checkout and wait until they can come and scan their badge, punch in some numbers, and clear out your mistake. Oh, and if you accidentally scan something wrong and it doesn't end up on your receipt. All of a sudden 50 people are chasing you out of the store claiming you stole something over an honest mistake. Can we please re-open the cashiered registers?
Bring Back 24-Hours
Remember when you could go shopping at Walmart at 3 am? It's so calm and quiet and peaceful, yes you have to weave in and out of the overnight stocking, but man it was the most calming Walmart shopping experience ever.
Bring Back Rollback Smiley
Smiley (that was its name), was a cute happy face that promoted the Walmart Rollbacks. Smiley always had a smile and great deals for shoppers. It made Walmart pleasant.
Bring Back Open Shelves
The ability to shop for makeup, razors, and personal items without having to pay in the HBA area. Then pay again upfront for all your other items. Plus, finding someone to help you get an item in a locked case is a nightmare. Obviously, it's in a case to prevent theft, but it's annoying.
Bring Back Walmart Greeters
Most of the time the Walmart greeter was a senior citizen who stood or sat by the doors and said hello, and Welcome to Walmart, it was such a pleasant interaction. Plus, it opened up an opportunity for our senior citizens to still work at a job.
Bring Back Walking Out of the Store Without Showing Receipt
Out with the Walmart greeter and in with the receipt police. We get it, people steal, but most of us don't and feel accosted when you stop us to check our receipts. It's understandable when people at Sam's Club or Costco check your receipt, you paid for a membership and follow the rules of that membership which include having your receipt checked. Walmart is not a membered store and people shouldn't have to stop to have their receipts checked. They just do it because it's easier to just let the receipt police check the receipt than being chased down and threatened with arrest.
McDonald's
It was great being able to grab a Big Mac for dinner on your way out the door. Plus, it was a great way to bribe your kid to behave while shopping. That Happy Meal sure paid off.
