Texas Got Another Guinness World Record – And It’s A Long One
Texas is no stranger to earning spots in the legendary Guinness Book Of World Records. The lone star state is all over that book and here comes another entry.
Texas has earned a number of appearances in the Guinness Book Of World Records and we're about to add yet another. This one, I must admit, I would have never thought about as a record setting thing.
At 7.3 miles in length though, it's going in ...
Galveston, Texas is home to the Seawall which stretches about 10 miles and 7.3 miles of it is about to, officially, become the longest, continuous sidewalk in the world. Tampa, Florida's 4.5 mile Bayshore Boulevard is about to kiss the current record goodbye.
This is certainly not Texas' first or only appearance in the Guinness Book Of World Records ... it's not even Galveston's first or only Guinness world record. Galveston can also claim the "largest Human Image of a Cowboy Hat", (which took 363 peeps to pull off), and the MASSIV Monster Blaster which is the world's tallest water coaster.
Galveston's Seawall was built to protect the island from the sea after the super deadly hurricane of 1900 wrecked the city and killed 6,000 people. It is the worst disaster ever in the history of both Texas and the USA.

What Other Records Does Texas Hold?
Texas, as a state, is in the Guinness Book Of World Records for the world's biggest cowboy boots, the world's tallest dog, the world's largest Bowie knife, the worlds largest nut, (mechanical, not edible) and a bunch more. Somewhere between 550 and 766 times to be, somewhat, exact.
