On Monday, September 23rd, the Texas Attorney General’s Office, FBI, the Texas Rangers, and Lubbock Police raided the Lubbock County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Attorney General’s office took the lead during the raid and helped seize multiple documents, computers and other materials from the office. It's unclear exactly why the raid was conducted.

Lubbock County’s contract with NAAG Pathology Labs to operate the M.E.’s office expires on September 30th, and the Lubbock County Commissioner’s Court voted Monday to use the Tarrant County M.E.’s office on an as-needed basis until a new M.E. is hired.
