Lubbock’s Tuesday Morning Store Remains Open Amid Bankruptcy
We're happy to see that Lubbock's Tuesday Morning store will remain open while many are shuttered across the country as the national retailer has been forced into bankruptcy due to COVID-19, according to USA Today.
The franchise had been struggling and faced financial difficulty prior to the coronavirus pandemic. The national shutdown due to the virus was a challenge that they couldn't overcome. They have now filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy and are closing 230 stores, according to reports.
There are more than 600 Tuesday Morning stores, and each is being assessed for performance. Only 130 of the stores due to be closed have been decided so far, so time will tell how our local Tuesday Morning store will fair when more closings are announced.
A quick visit at the store shows a big sign waving in the breeze that says 'Now Open.' A team member assured us that they are very happy to be back open for business after the shutdown.
This store is in a prime location, situated next to TJ Maxx, Sola Salons and a Sally Beauty Supply store, with a line out front when I passed. The ample parking lot stays very busy, and South Loop 289 and Quaker Avenue has a ton to offer and generates a lot of ongoing business.
