LUBBOCK, TEXAS (KFYO) -- A portion of Marsha Sharp Freeway will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 1 and 2, for a construction project.

According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the daytime closures along the Marsha Sharp Freeway Phase 5B project limits will allow Webber Construction to move equipment and concrete beams necessary for the construction of the new Spur 327 bridge over the freeway.

The inside left lane of westbound Marsha Sharp Freeway located between Loop 289 and Milwaukee Ave. will be closed beginning at 4 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 1. It will remain closed overnight and until the project is completed Tuesday. The eastbound and westbound lanes of the freeway will be affected by the closures starting 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2.

Crews will close eastbound MSF and detour traffic to Milwaukee Avenue via the eastbound Spur 327 frontage roads. Motorists will take Milwaukee Avenue north to reconnect with the the freeway.
