Lubbock Police say a drug deal gone bad is what led to the shooting death of 16-year-old Jamie Skylas Duran.

According to arrest warrants in the case, three people were arrested last week for abandonment of a child. Police allege that they, along with 17-year-old Juan Manuel Pineda and his 15-year-old girlfriend, drove to 37th Street and Avenue V to buy $30 worth of marijuana.

During the drug deal, police say Pineda shot Jamie Duran in the head, putting the 15-year-old in danger. Those arrested have been identified as 24-year-old Danielle Morales-Perez, 21-year-old Justin Garcia, and 21-year-old Eva Garcia.

Juan Pineda is still wanted by authorities and has an address listed in Brownfield. See a photo of him below.
