SK806 Roller Rink Now Open in New South Lubbock Location

Lubbock's SK806 Roller Rink & Events Center is now open in a new location in South Lubbock, at 12209 Geneva Avenue. The building appears to be the former location of Trader Bows Indoor Archery. SK806 Roller Rink was previously located at 2424 Clovis Road.

According to SK806 Roller Rink's Facebook page, the new facility is fully air conditioned and heated and offers plenty of parking. Looking at their official website, it also appears they host youth league roller hockey. They're available to book for parties as well.

West Texas Roller Derby will meet and presumably compete there. I've met many past and current Roller Derby folks, and they have all somehow managed to be the coolest and most lovely people. Maybe I need to play more aggressive sports to improve my general attitude. Or any sports at all, for that matter.

I absolutely love that Lubbock is getting more attractions beyond bars and restaurants (as much as I absolutely love bars and restaurants). Lubbock has always desperately needed more open opportunities for people to participate in sports or hobbies, especially since outdoor exercise can be so easily hampered by the extreme heat, dust, etc. I respect and admire local business people who are willing to take a risk and go outside of the Lubbock comfort zone for new things to do.
