With 2015 being the year Back to the Future II envisioned as the future, everyone is looking to celebrate what the future of 1989 was supposed to look like. Earlier this year, Nike announced they’d be releasing a version of Marty McFly’s self-lacing Air Mags. And now, Lexus may have one-upped them, releasing a teaser video revealing a sneak peek at an actual working hoverboard.

One of the most iconic parts of Back to the Future is the time traveling DeLorean. But, in earlier versions of the story, the DeLorean was nowhere to be found. Originally, Marty McFly was going to back to the 1950s in a refrigerator! And, instead of being powered by plutonium, it was powered by a nuclear explosion and Coca-Cola. In 2010, a guy in San Francisco named Matthew Riese started raising money on Kickstarter.com, to build the coolest hovercraft EVER. It cost $5,600, and it's an exact replica of the DeLorean from'Back to the Future'.

Twenty-three years ago, as ‘Back to the Future, Part II’ first hit theaters, kids everywhere got their first look at a toy from the future. It was the Mattel Hoverboard, the skateboard without wheels that uses futuristic technology to float inches above the ground. Rumors swirled in the ’80s and ’90s that the Hoverboard was real (rumors fueled by director Robert Zemeckis) but, alas, much to the disappointment of children everywhere, the Hoverboard was just another piece of movie magic.

Michael J. Fox performed at his annual Parkinson's benefit on Saturday night. He played guitar on Chuck Berry's "Johnny B. Goode"...which is the same song he played at the school dance in "Back to the Future".

According to "Back to the Future Part II", we're supposed to have hoverboards by 2015. And we might be a lot closer thanks to scientists at Tel-Aviv University in Israel.

Musician/comedian  Matt “The Mouth” Mulholland was able to recreate the entire audio track from the famous skateboard chase scene in ‘Back to the Future’ using only the power of his own voice. Mulholland voiced the dialogue, the sound effects and the background music from the scene on different tracks and synced them to the video.
