A group of fans welcomed the historic team home to Lubbock Saturday evening after they clinched a share of the Big 12 regular season title by defeating Iowa State, 80-73. The win marks the first time in school history the team has accomplished this feat.

In the video below, a crowd of fans line the road with their guns up to welcome the team's bus back to the United Supermarkets Arena. Chris Beard walks out with the Big 12 Championship trophy in hand.

Inside the arena, fans of all ages smiled and high-fived the players. And on the court, the nets were cut down.

"Perfect end to a perfect day," indeed.

The team now readies for a March 14th game against the winner of a first round matchup between West Virginia and Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship bracket. It will be carried on ESPN/2 at 6 p.m.

Kansas State on Saturday also earned a share of the Big 12 regular season title, beating Oklahoma, 68-53. They will face the winner of the first round game between TCU and Oklahoma State. That game will happen Thursday, March 14th at 1:30 p.m., also on ESPN/2.
