Vince Vaughn Will Star in a Movie Version of ‘The Rockford Files’

Vince Vaughn will star in a movie version of 'The Rockford Files'.

The original TV series starred James Garner as private eye Jim Rockford, who lived and worked out of a mobile home near the beach in Malibu. It ran on NBC from 1974 to 1980.

NBC tried to bring it back last year with Dermot Mulroney in the lead role, but the pilot was reportedly TERRIBLE, and it never aired.

These days, James Garner is probably better known as the old guy in 'The Notebook'. Isn't that sad?
