4-Month-Old Child Shot and Killed in Lubbock Home; Police Still Investigating

A 4-month-old child has died after being shot at a house in Lubbock.
KAMC News reports that Lubbock Police first responded to the residence near Lehigh Street and Knoxville Avenue at around 3:05 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15th, 2022.
Details about the shooting are scarce. Several juveniles were in the house with a gun when it was discharged, confirmed Lubbock Police Department Captain Leath McClure. The infant who was shot was was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. They were later pronounced dead.
Whether or not this was an accidental shooting has yet to be determined. Police are still investigating what happened.
