The Texas Tech bye week is coming at what could be a perfect time. Matt Wells pulled the trigger on a quarterback change after a 1-3 start. The team has also been a bit banged up in the last two weeks playing the two toughest teams in the Big 12.

It's expected that KeSean Carter should be available out of the bye week after missing a game, and that the defensive line should be better equipped to handle a new rotation after losing Nelson Mbanasor in the Kansas State game.

The bye week could be great in other ways, too. The program has some seriously negative vibes around it after a poor start and needs to take a breath and refocus. I don't know that those problems can be fixed in a single week, but I do know that Football Power Index thinks that the Red Raiders have a lot to work on.

Since the Red Raiders' close win over Houston Baptist, the Texas Tech team has been solidly number 9 in the Big 12. ESPN continues to believe this, with the Red Raiders only predicted to get one more win this season, and it's not particularly close.

Take a look at the remainder of the Big 12 schedule for Texas Tech and see where ESPN thinks the Red Raiders have a chance to get the win. (Spoiler alert: It's Kansas.)
