If you're looking for something to do tonight by yourself or with some friends, I have a fun plan in mind that I hope someone will enjoy.

While I'm usually the type to make plans ahead of time, because I like to know what I’m getting myself into well in advance to properly prepare (shoutout to all of my fellow anxiety-ridden peeps), sometimes the occasional last-minute plan can work out wonderfully. Sometimes you haven’t made a plan, but really want to go out and do something, and today is probably one of those days for you if you’re reading this.

So, I decided to formulate a fun night out that specifically applies to today, October 21m 2022. Hopefully this helps some of you get out there and have a good time tonight.

Okay, let’s dive into the plan.

Tonight, Flippers Tavern is hosting their Fliptoberfest starting at 6:30. They are giving out free Pondaseta pint glasses when you order a Volksbier (while supplies last), and are also doing special black forest cake shots in tiny boot shot glasses. I don’t know about you, but drinking some cold beer, taking a yummy shot, and enjoying their pretzels and wursts sounds like a good time to me.

The next important part of tonight is the Texas Tech University Homecoming Bonfire taking place at Urbanovsky Park at 8:00. This is an annual tradition for the university where they build a massive bonfire to celebrate Homecoming.

So, putting those two events together, and considering their proximity, I think it would be fun to either get dinner and a beer at Flips and then make your way to campus to watch the fire burn, or you can check out the spirit squad and other performances before the fire, watch them light it, and then make your way to Flips or another bar right after.
