A Shooting in Brownfield Leaves One Dead, Another Injured
A shooting in Brownfield, Texas, has left one dead and at least one other injured Tuesday morning.
KAMC News reports that that incident began at around 12:14 a.m., when Brownfield police officers responded to a call of a disturbance in the alley of North 3rd and West Ripley Street.
Two people, reportedly from Seagraves, are believed to have gotten into an altercation with a man from Brownfield that turned deadly. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots, which prompted calls to police.
Upon arrival at the scene, Brownfield police discovered 19-year-old Evan Anderson of Seagraves unresponsive. After first responders performed CPR unsuccessfully, Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another gunshot victim was also found wounded at the scene. Nineteen-year-old Jim Mojica of Brownfield was taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock and is expected to recover.
The whereabouts and condition of the other person from Seagraves said to have been involved has not been mentioned.
Brownfield Police Chief Tony Serbantez says the shooting is still being investigated. No arrests have been officially reported.
