Adopting Pets Is Better And Cheaper Than Buying Designer Ones, And This Week Its Free Too [VIDEO]
If you've been shopping around for a pet recently then this week is what you've been waiting for. The Lubbock Animal Shelter is offering free adoption and no killing until Saturday at 4, so hurry please.
The number of animals euthanized in our shelter is way too high. I mean having to kill any animals that could be pets is sad, but here in Lubbock there are an abnormally high number of bad pet owners who get cute baby pets and then dump them when they get older, or when they actually have to use any effort to care for the animals. People suck a bunch sometimes.
So this week in an effort to lower our animal euthanasia rates the shelter is offering free adoptions. Normally $60, the free adoptions still include everything you need for a new pet including spaying or neutering, a microchip, the first set of shots, and a registration tag so your new family member comes home completely legal and healthy.
Lubbock Animal Services is located at 3323 SE Loop 289 and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m, which is when the free adoption event is over, and sadly the shelter had to return to business as usual.
If you're not ready for a pet yet but you're going to be soon, the shelter will also offer a half off adoption week coming up the week of March 19th.
And PetSmart wants to remind you of National Adoption Weekend May 18-20.
