‘Anchorman 2′ Trailer: Welcome to the 1980s, Ron Burgundy
Ron Burgundy is back in 'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues,' and -- as we're informed -- more Burgundy-er than ever. And now there's a new trailer that shows the news team in full force.
Where the previous trailers featured no actual footage from the film, this new trailer establishes that the film is set in the '80s and that it's about Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Champ Kind (David Koechner), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell) and Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) working for a CNN-type organization.
But more than anything there is silliness. From the return of Baxter and Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), to Ferrell going on a date with Meagan Good's character (and then going to her family's home for dinner), to the introduction of Brick's love interest (played by Kristen Wiig), there are some funny jokes here. Trailers are rarely good barometers for quality, but we can't wait for this one.
'Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues' will be in theaters on December 20, though it's worth noting there will be a slightly different trailer attached to 'World War Z' this weekend. Here's the film's synopsis:
With the 70's behind him, San Diego's top rated newsman, Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), returns to the news desk in "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues." Also back for more are Ron’s co-anchor and wife, Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), weather man Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koechner) - All of whom won’t make it easy to stay classy… while taking New York's first 24-hour news channel by storm.
