The Band is in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but many still feel like they're one of the most underrated groups of musicians ever to walk the face of Earth. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1994, The Band was originally a backing band playing for musicians like Ronnie Hawkins and the great Bob Dylan.

They themselves though did have success once they ditched the backing roll and became a headlining act. The Band found their success with such hits as" The Weight" (1968), "Up on Cripple Creek" (1969) and "Rag Mama Rag" (1970). The Band's Greatest Hits is also one of the most celebrated collective albums in music history.

The Band had 10 studio albums and appeared in the cult classic The Last Waltz, which was their final performance as The Band. Landon, myself and others have had many conversations on what we thought were the best songs by The Band, not including their big hits like "The Weight" and "Up on Cripple Creek."

It was hard to boil the list down, but here are our Top 5 songs from The Band. Enjoy!
