Billy Gibbons and John Fogerty Play ZZ Top, Creedence Classics Together
ZZ Top frontman Billy Gibbons dropped in to perform two songs with John Fogerty during the former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman's recent concert in Tulsa, Okla., and thanks to the almighty Internet, you can watch it for yourself right now!
It all went down on Oct. 17 at a venue named the Joint. Gibbons was in town early for his band's nearby show the next night and wisely decided to spend his time off checking out a rock show. He joined Fogerty and his band to play 'Sharp Dressed Man,' even letting his host finish some of the song's famous verses. The duo traded several guitar solos on that song and their next collaboration, Creedence's 1969 classic 'Born on the Bayou.'
Fogerty will be on tour until mid-November, performing the classic CCR albums 'Cosmos Factory' and 'Bayou Country' in full. In our dreamworld, in addition to ZZ Top's current touring plans, Gibbons is either planning another Moving Sidewalks show -- this time in Ohio, please -- or putting the finishing touches on the second half of 'La Futura.'
