One of the most successful singer/songwriters in rock & roll music history, Carole King is 70 today. Her SMASHES include, "I Feel the Earth Move", "You've Got a Friend", "(You Make Me Feel Like) a Natural Woman", "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" and "The Locomotion".

King and her former husband Gerry Goffin wrote more than two dozen chart hits for numerous artists during the 1960s, many of which have become standards.

Her album Tapestry was at the top of the Billboard charts for an amazing 15 weeks back in 1971! That album was recently ranked #36 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest albums of all time.

Carole wrote a song that became a HUGE hit for James Taylor, 'You've Got a Friend':
