Grab a Dutch Bros Drink in Lubbock and Help Local Kids in Foster Care
I don't need much convincing to stop for coffee. Throw in the fact that my caffeine habit can actually help kids in the Lubbock area, and now my iced black coffee does good for more than just me!

CASA of the South Plains is once again teaming up with Dutch Bros for Buck for Kids Day this Friday (September 18th) and this might be one of the easiest fundraisers you'll participate in all year.
Buy a drink. Drink the drink. Help a kid.
I'm pretty sure I can handle those instructions.
Every Dutch Bros Drink Means $1 for CASA
Buck for Kids Day will take place at all six Dutch Bros locations in Lubbock.
For every drink purchased during the day, the Dutch Bros Foundation will donate $1 to CASA of the South Plains and the children and families the organization serves.

This will be the sixth year CASA has been a beneficiary of Buck for Kids Day.
And while a dollar from one drink might not sound enormous, think about how many drinks six Dutch Bros locations can hand through their windows during a Friday in Lubbock. Suddenly those dollars start piling up pretty quickly.
What Does CASA of the South Plains Do?
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and the organization works with children in the foster care system.
CASA volunteers become a consistent adult presence in a child's life, getting to know them, advocating for their best interests and providing informed recommendations concerning their well-being.
CASA of the South Plains serves Cochran, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, Terry and Yoakum counties.
Right now, there are children within those six counties waiting for a CASA volunteer.
CASA Made a Big Impact in 2025
The numbers give you a pretty good idea of what these volunteers are accomplishing.
In 2025, 374 children received advocacy services from CASA of the South Plains. The organization's 222 CASA volunteers donated 5,832 hours, which CASA estimates saved county taxpayers $320,760 in county-paid attorneys' fees.
Even more importantly, 120 young people in foster care found permanency with the help of their CASA volunteer during 2025.
That's a lot of work being done by people who simply decided they wanted to make a difference in the life of a child.

How Lubbock Can Help on Friday
The easiest option is obvious.
Go get yourself a Dutch Bros.
Buck for Kids Day happens Friday, September 18th, 2026, at all six Lubbock Dutch Bros locations, with $1 from every drink sold going to CASA.
But CASA also needs volunteers and donors throughout the year. You can become a CASA volunteer, join the organization's Heroes for Hope monthly giving program with donations beginning at $10 per month, or even arrange a CASA 101 informational session for your workplace.

So Friday morning, afternoon...or both, I'm not judging...grab your favorite Dutch Bros drink.
You're probably going to buy the coffee anyway. You might as well make that caffeine do some good for a Lubbock-area kid.
