Tuesday evening, AgTexas Farm Credit Services recognized South Plains area high school seniors with a banquet at the Bayer Museum of Agriculture. During the 2016-17 school year the high school students at Tuesday's banquet were monthly winners of AgTexas' "AgYouth of the Month" program.

“We are honoring some of the best and brightest young minds in Texas with this program,” says AgTexas Farm Credit CEO Tim McDonald. He adds, “These students represent the next generation of agriculture in Texas and the United States. It’s our privilege to pay tribute to their achievements thus far and encourage them for the future.”

The high school seniors at Tuesday's banquet participated in FFA or 4-H programs during the school year.

At the end of Tuesday's banquet, eight students were each awarded a $1,000 college scholarship check to help further their education. According to AgTexas executives, the bank is presenting a total of $20,000 in college scholarships among its three regions at end of the year banquets.
