Friday on The Chad Hasty Show Chad Seay, Lubbock County Commissioner for Precinct 4, joined the program in the KFYO studio to discuss several current issues facing Lubbock County.
Seay and Hasty discussed the reasons for the re-designation of Loop 88, the county's budget and funding issues, the status and future of the Lubbock County Detention Center, roads and the expanding growth needs in the county, and more.
Hasty and Seay talked at length about the Lubbock County Expo Center and the continuing lack of specifics for plans, land acquisition, actual funding availability for the facility, and concerns about having to compete with the planned 10,000 seat arena in Amarillo.
When asked by Hasty about the real timeline for starting construction on the Expo Center, Seay replied,
When are they going to have all their money in the bank? Because we're not going to build a fifty million dollar facility if they don't have their money, I'm sorry. I'm not going to put the county on the hook for that.
