The mother and stepfather of murdered 18-year-old Idalou girl Holli Jeffcoat have been indicted for capital murder in a Lubbock County court.

Both Debi Holland and James Holland were indicted during a special Lubbock County grand jury hearing Friday, July 1. The indictment comes more than four months after the body of Holli Jeffcoat was found inside her home with her throat cut and womb and uterus removed.

Jeffcoat was pregnant by Mr. Holland, according to police.

Mr. Holland was arrested and charged in March for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Mrs. Holland was arrested and charged in April with aggravated sexual assault for facilitating her husband's sexual abuse against Holli Jeffcoat and another female family member.

A police report released after Mrs. Holland's arrest claimed she knew her daughter was pregnant by her husband, but "instructed Holli not to tell anyone and thus aided James Holland in the continuing molestation of Holli."

At press time, it's unclear if prosecutors will seek the death penalty against either Mr. or Mrs. Holland.
