Did ‘Star Trek: The Next Generation’ Invent the iPad in 1992?

This video has been on the Internet for a while, but we've never seen it before...and it's pretty interesting.

On an episode of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation' back in 1992, Captain Picard (played by Patrick Stewart) is using a device that looks suspiciously like an iPad.
