Domestic Violence Victim Marries EMT Who Saved Her
One woman's horrific ordeal has a fairy tale ending.
Melissa Dohme recently married Cameron Hill, the EMT who rescued her after she was stabbed more than 30 times by an ex-boyfriend. It was an act of violence so horrific that witnesses thought Dohme was dead.
Dohme and Hill, who tied the knot March 4 in Florida, met under stressful circumstances and their relationship eventually blossomed, with Hill popping the question in 2015 at a baseball game.
Making their wedding even sweeter is the fact Dohme was able to smile, something she didn't know she'd ever be able to do again. That's because she lost some nerve in her face in the attack, resulting in a crooked smile. She underwent surgery in Massachusetts to repair it prior to her big day, enabling her to "smile down the aisle," as she put it.
The loving groom was certainly thrilled. "She looks great," Hall said, "She's beautiful."
Here's to wishing the happy couple the happily ever after they deserve.
