Another car hits a home in Lubbock, Texas. My neighbor's home was struck by a truck early Thursday morning (March 18th).

I can't say the exact time, but I believe it happened right around 3 a.m. I heard a car speeding down the road, which is not at all uncommon on 11th Place between the Loop and Milwaukee Ave. Even though there's an elementary school on that street, we hear people roaring down it, day and night, likely because there is only one stop sign on that road and it's a faster shortcut through the neighborhood.

Next, I heard two loud bangs. I thought that it sounded like a hitched trailer being pulled over a dip in the road, at a high speed. Nothing too crazy, but still loud enough to notice.

I went back to sleep.

I woke up minutes later to the sound of a tow truck. Beep. Beep. Beep. I still didn't know that anything had happened. In fact, I thought that maybe my roommate might have been towed for parking illegally or something.

Then I saw all of the firetruck lights shining through my window, indicating something bad happened. I asked my boyfriend to run outside and see what it was. Lo and behold, the person across the street from us had a white truck parked inside their house.

I don't know the specific details of what happened, but I do know lots of children live in our neighborhood and I'm hoping everyone involved in the crash this morning made it out okay.
