Even Babies are Bigger in Texas!

"It's a beautiful baby, but for health reasons we'd rather not see a baby this large. They can have a little harder time maintaining their blood sugar," nurse Mary Beth Smith, who witnessed the c-section birth, told KYTX-TV.

And according to the Huffington Post:

The average weight of a newborn baby is about 7 1/2 pounds, which is why it's shocking -- even in Texas -- that a woman has given birth to a 16-pound baby boy.

Two feet tall at birth, JaMichael Brown is the biggest baby ever born in the state of Texas.

Mom says: ""I'm happy! We'll be here for a few more days, and then I'm looking forward to bringing JaMichael home and just loving on him."

The family is from Longview.

The world record for the largest baby is 23 pounds, 12 ounces.
