‘Expedition Dinosaur': See Lifesized Dinos At the Science Spectrum!
Alright, Lubbock, get ready—dinosaurs are coming to town! And no, this isn’t some Jurassic Park situation where we need to start reinforcing fences. This is Expedition: Dinosaur, a brand-new exhibit roaring into the Science Spectrum from February 15th through June 1st, 2025.
If you’ve ever wanted to walk among life-sized dinosaurs, now’s your chance! These aren’t just some plastic models sitting in a museum—these animatronic beasts move, roar, and even have special effects to make you feel like you just stepped back 75 million years. And yes, Velociraptors are on the list, so keep an eye out.
What’s Waiting for You Inside?
Besides a whole lot of prehistoric awesomeness, here’s what you can expect:
Massive Animatronic Dinosaurs – Meet a Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Carnotaurus, Dilophosaurus, and more. There's even an Albertosaurus, which is basically the T-Rex’s lesser-known (but just as terrifying) cousin.
Hands-On Science Fun – Ever wanted to dig for fossils, test your skills as a dino egg incubator, or see how these creatures used their tails to balance? This exhibit has all that and more.
EPIC T-Rex Photo Op – Let’s be real—if you don’t take a picture with a giant T-Rex head, did you even go?
Dino Movie on the Giant Screen – The OMNI Theater will be showing Dinosaurs: Giants of Patagonia starting February 14th, giving you the chance to see some of the biggest dinos in history in bigger-than-life format.
Here's a quick video promoting the exhibit from another city earlier this year:
How to Get In?
Tickets for Expedition: Dinosaur start at $14.50 for adults and $12.00 for kids & seniors. Want to see the movie too? A combo ticket gets you both for $20.00 (adults) or $17.00 (kids & seniors).
This is a limited-time event, so don’t wait! Grab your tickets, bring the whole family, and prepare to be amazed—because dinosaurs are taking over Lubbock, and you won’t want to miss it!
