Fatal Crash in Yoakum County Leaves One Dead

Wednesday morning, March 16th, two vehicles collided in Yoakum County at the intersection of FM 769 and US 82, claiming one life.

A Chevy truck driving down FM 769 failed to yield the right of way to a freight liner truck tractor semi-trailer traveling southwest on US 82. The driver of the Chevy, 39-year-old Cornelius Neustaeter from Denver City, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, 17-year-old Abram Neustaeter, was taken to a hospital in Lovington, New Mexico with incapacitating injuries.

The driver of the freight liner truck tractor semi-trailer, 40-year-old Raymon Woods, was not injured in the accident.
