Road construction is a necessary evil: It HAS to get done. Potholes have to be filled. Roads need constant maintenance. Paving and striping and everything else. Plus, we're a rapidly growing city and we need to expand our infrastructure witch is a painful process for motorists in the Hub City...and everywhere else as well.

I don't know what exactly is going on with the south loop around Quaker, but it's REALLY causing serious issues and headaches for Lubbock drivers. We hear complaints about it all day long at the radio station. It's making people's commutes absolutely miserable!

And this isn't just a county or city-wide issue. In my own backyard at Buffalo Springs Lake, it's a constant problem with water flooding highway 835 that runs between Buffalo and the V8 Ranch. They block the road because it's flooded, but don't tell you it's blocked until you've driven the 1.5 miles down Comanche and they have a barrier up. Couldyou guy not have put a sign at the top of that road letting people know that the road is closed 1.5 miles away? A $15 sign from Amazon hung on a tree would do the trick, but they NEVER put up a notice. I drives me NUTS!

Basically, what I'm saying is that road construction is a selfish thing to get angry over. You and I are really just upset that our day has been interrupted and we're mad about it.

With that in mind, we asked the listeners, "What areas of construction in Lubbock are currently driving you INSANE?!?"

Here's what they had to say...

What areas of construction in Lubbock are currently driving you INSANE?!?
