If you are looking to do some shopping, and support local artists, while also a non-profit you need to check out this Lubbock event.

Every year One Voice, a local Lubbock non-profit, hosts an event called The Art of Freedom. This event is an annual art sale and auction.

This charity helps survivors of sex trafficking to begin their unique Journey of healing and offers an individual pathway of healing through trauma-informed wrap-around care for survivors of sex trafficking. According to them, "OVH programs will allow minors and young women to experience a new beginning using an overall holistic approach designed to fit her specific needs. The young women at OneVoice have the opportunity to choose to transform their lives and re-enter the community as a confident advocates for others who need to see that your past does not define you and there is hope after the pain."

This event was started when Garland Spore, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Scott Spore in Lubbock, learned of the reality of sex trafficking of young girls her own age in our area, she became determined to help make a difference. Her vision of an art show to raise funds for this cause has grown into The Art of Freedom. The Art of Freedom is a vital cause that is the signature fundraising event for OneVoiceHome.

OneVoice will serve young girls ages 12 to 18 and young women ages 18-25. They will experience individualized and holistic care. Their healing journey will include emotional, mental, spiritual, educational, and physical tools for them to find individual success.

100% of The Art of Freedom Event proceeds will benefit the survivors that OneVoice serves. Hundreds from the community will come together at Texas Tech University Fraizer Alumni Pavillion Center to fight against sex trafficking and in support of the cause to uphold the integrity of human life and freedom.

The event is happening on Thursday, November 10th, 2020 at 2680 Drive of Champions, Lubbock, TX 79409.
