The Texas Department of Public Safety said 68-year-old Brad Moore was in a vintage 1970 Chevy, which was being towed to Brownfield on U.S. 62-82 by Carmie Moore in a 2020 Toyota Tundra.

According to Texas DPS, the driver of a 2007 Chrysler failed to control their speed and crashed into the back of the Chevy, severely injuring Moore in the process. Moore was reportedly not injured in the accident.

Mr. Moore was treated at Brownfield Regional Medical Center, but did not survive his injuries. It's unclear if the driver of the Chrysler will face any charges.

Moore was a former Mayor of Brownfield and a graduate of the Texas Tech School of Law. He also once served as Chairman of the Republican Party of Terry County.
