When it comes to Christmas Spirit, it’s no surprise that Texas is lighting up the holiday season. A recent study using Google search data ranked states based on their festive vibes, and Texas came in at an impressive #6! From Lubbock to Houston, we’re proving once again that everything’s bigger—and cheerier—in the Lone Star State!

At the top of the list? Utah claimed the crown as the most Christmassy state, followed by Massachusetts, Virginia, Illinois, and Washington. Texas isn’t far behind, and I, for one, am already thinking about climbing that list next year.

Now, here’s the plot twist: Alaska, home to the North Pole (literally), landed dead last in Christmas Spirit. That’s right—while Texans are Googling recipes for tamales and searching for the best Christmas light displays, Alaskans are apparently shivering through the holiday season. I mean, how can the state closest to Santa’s workshop not feel the magic?

It’s no mystery why Texas ranks so high. Just look around Lubbock—we’ve got Santa Land, dazzling light tours, and neighborhoods decked out with more inflatables than Frosty’s ever seen. Add in our signature tamale feasts and cowboys in Santa hats, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for holiday cheer!

On the flip side, the states with the least Christmas Spirit also include Wyoming, Mississippi, and North Dakota. Maybe they just need a little Texas-style holiday cheer to boost their rankings.

So, while Alaska figures out how to channel its inner spirit of Christmas, we Texans will keep rocking around the Christmas tree, drinking hot cocoa, and spreading holiday joy. Let’s aim for #1 next year, y’all! Merry Christmas, Lubbock!
