Lubbock-based Glasheen, Valles & Inderman is representing six survivors of a deadly bus crash that happened near Vega, Texas back in September.

The bus, driven by 71-year-old Jerry Buckner of Albuquerque, was carrying roughly 33 passengers from Albuquerque to a conference in Georgia. KAMC News reports the bus was traveling east along Interstate 40 on September 29th when the crash occurred.

The lawsuit says that the driver failed to control the bus and failed to maintain his lane. It's said that the driver veered into a lane of traffic that was closed for construction, and after driving through multiple traffic cones, he collided with several concrete support beams.

Buckner was killed in the accident, and 18 others were injured.

KFDA in Amarillo reports that 3 of the passengers were taken to Northwest Texas Hospital with serious injuries, and 2 were taken by ambulance to Northwest Texas Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 13 passengers were taken to a hospital in Hereford with minor injuries.

The lawsuit says that the 6 survivors being represented by Glasheen, Valles & Inderman suffered lacerations to their heads and necks, dislocated shoulders, skull fractures, broken bones and more.

Construction in the area began in September of 2019 and is scheduled for completion in summer of 2021. The crash was said to have not impacted the construction work.

The lawsuit was filed in Santa Fe District Court.
