When it comes to restaurants and activities that we'd really like to see in the Hub City, there's a short-list of businesses that we really want to see arrive in Lubbock. However, for one reason or another, it has yet to happen in these cases.

Bu-cee's

In-N-Out Burger

Dutch Bros. (Oh, sorry, that one IS coming. My bad!)

All of them continue to elude Lubbock consumers, including one destination that would be ideal for young and old alike: DAVE & BUSTERS

The biggest challenge with any new venue, such as Dave & Busters (which needs a good-sized building), is where to locate it. The obvious neighborhoods such as West End or anywhere South of 114th Street would require construction of a new building, which could take months to complete. In that instance, we have a solution.

The old Best Buy building which stands next to the Cinemark is already constructed and has been unused for quite some time. There also seems to be a plethora of available parking, even though the location isn't the most accessible on the access road.

Plus, there is excellent visibility for signage.

The most important thing is finding a way to repurpose that eyesore that still stands as a sullen reminder that greener pastures were to be found elsewhere. But rather than seeing yet another building in Lubbock decay and become a symbol of urban blight, bring a business that would be embraced by the area and loved by families.

Lubbock has clamored for Dave & Busters for quite a while. We've found the building, now they just need to fill it with video games, beers and burgers.
