However, when I discovered that I live in one of the top five cities for the lowest cost of living in Texas, I suddenly grew a Lone Star State smile. Yes! It's true. Not only do we reside in the best state in America, we live in a very affordable city too.
So what is it that puts my hometown on this top five list? The study was conducted by Redfin.com. Whether buying or renting, real estate plays a big part in the cost-of-living numbers. So do expenses like child care, food, income, fuel, utilities, property taxes, and entertainment.
