The Lubbock Guide to Having Absolutely Nothing to Do
You don't need plans. You don't need 100 bucks. You don't even need to put on pants.
Okay. You might need pants.
If it's 2 pm and you haven't even crawled out of bed yet, you're probably like me, someone without a whole lot to do (except work).
If you're as bored as I was last weekend, let's work on keeping it from happening to you again NEXT weekend. I've got tips.
1. Go To A Coffee Shop And Pretend You're Somebody
Bring your laptop and a stack of books for research.
Every few moments, let out a long sigh to establish dominance among those around you.
Bottomless coffee is pretty cheap, and the wifi is free. Great way to spend an afternoon.
2. Wander Around Tech and Play Pokémon Go!
Download the app if you don't already have it. (Shame on you! It's awesome!)
Walk around Tech and catch Pokémon to your heart's content.
I do it all the time. If you see me, say hi, unless I'm in my jammies.
Then, pretend you don't see me.
3. Go Antiquing With Zero Intent To Purchase Anything
This one is a total vibe.
You can walk around with $11 in your checking account and spend 90 minutes fussing over ceramic ducks you won't be taking home.
Kills time.
Plus, you might spot something you can actually afford.
4. Go To The Library
Not because you're trying to get smart or anything.
But you never know.
If you stick around there long enough, you're bound to learn a thing or two.
5. Go Sit Somewhere And Watch Lubbock Happen
People watching is grade A Lubbock entertainment, and you can do it from basically everywhere but your couch.
Just get out of the house. It's not so bad out here. Promise.
6. Take Yourself On A $10 Adventure
See how many things you can buy for 10 dollars.
Make it a challenge among your friends.
Try Dollar Tree.
That's where I always score the weirdest loot I don't need.
7. Fine, Stay Home...BUT, Make It WEIRD
Weird is essential to this one.
If you're gonna stay in, make it count.
Rearrange your furniture and make a ridiculous meal.
Add weird food coloring to it that catches everyone off guard.
Try to teach your cat a trick.
Watch a whole documentary about socks.
Whatever you do, make it strange!
