A student of Monterey High School sent a photo to their parents of the bus they rode in for a recent field trip and it's pretty shocking. The bus was littered with trash and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. They even claim that there were cockroaches living in the mess.

I rode the bus to school most of my childhood in Lubbock and I've never seen anything this bad. Ever. In fact, all of the buses were usually very clean. Whatever happened here is pretty unacceptable.

The parent told KFMX that LISD was made aware of the situation and is rectifying it, thank goodness.

There really isn't a good excuse for how bad this bus looks. It's a public health issue, honestly, and I just hope that more LISD buses don't look this way. How did the state of this bus get overlooked long enough for it to have roaches in it? The bus driver can't really say that they didn't know how bad it was, right? The smell alone would have been a dead giveaway. I wonder how long it's been since it was cleaned.

Have you ever seen anything like this? Do you have a good excuse for it? Would you feel safe with your child riding around on this bus? Mistakes were clearly made and several balls were dropped for this to have happened. Not cool.

This photo makes me itchy. I'll be in the shower if anyone needs me.
