Watch Video of Police Pursuing Suspected Drunk Driver in Texas
Wild Ride: Texas Police Chase Takes a Twisted Turn as Suspected Drunk Driver Leads Cops on Heart-Pounding Pursuit.
On the evening of Saturday, January 27, 2024, A person who the police thought might be drunk drove away from them and hit a car and two people.
The police saw a gray truck doing strange things around 10:06 p.m. that night. It didn't have its headlights on and was going the wrong way on a one-way street. When the police tried to stop the truck, it sped away from them.
The Chase is On
The truck hit curbs, almost hit other cars, and even hit a pole. Even though the truck was badly damaged, the driver didn't stop and kept speeding. The police decided to be careful and not chase the truck too closely. The video shows the moment of the fiery crash.
Pedestrians Injured
The truck went through traffic, hit a pole, a stopped car, and two people who were walking on the other side of the road. The police got there quickly and helped the injured people who were taken to the hospital with severe injuries.
Arrested
The person driving the truck, Andrew Guerra, who is 29 years old, was taken into custody. He got hurt too and had to go to the hospital. He didn't want to give a sample of his blood, so the police got permission to test it. Guerra is now in jail and has to pay $95,000 to get out.
This is the first time Guerra has been in trouble for drinking and driving. The person who was with him in the truck is helping the police with their investigation and is also a victim in one of the charges against Guerra.
