2 Children Tragically Killed In Crash Caused By Street Racing
On Saturday night, a devastating crash in Grand Prairie, Texas resulted in the deaths of two adults and two children, with a third child in critical condition.
WITNESS CAPTURES FOOTAGE OF THE CRASH
According to police, the driver of a red Dodge Charger was speeding and racing another vehicle when it collided with a Chevy Traverse SUV, which was not involved in the race. Witnesses captured terrifying footage of the SUV catching fire immediately after the impact.
WITNESS DESCRIBES CRASH AS A CHAOTIC SCENE
Elisa Arguello, who was at a nearby community garden, described the chaotic scene. "I heard two cars zoom past the garden, followed by a massive crash," she said. Arguello rushed to the scene, where she saw flames engulfing the Fuel Stop gas station nearby. “I saw the driver of the red car trying to stand up, and I urged him to stay down,” she recalled.
Ashik Maharjam, who was working at the gas station, described the overwhelming fire. “The flames were so intense, I couldn’t get close,” he said. Emergency responders arrived swiftly, but it took 15 minutes to extinguish the blaze.
HEARTBREAKING AFTERMATH OF FATAL CRASH
The aftermath was captured in additional footage, showing the severely damaged red Charger and the charred Chevy Traverse. Authorities reported that the SUV carried five family members; tragically, four died, and a fifth remains hospitalized in critical condition. The Grand Prairie police continue their investigation into this tragic event.
