10 Cocktails That Give Total ‘Lubbock’ Vibes
These ten cocktails fit a variety of preferences, and all scream 'Lubbock Texas'.
Tornado
Because it will mess you up if you aren't careful, this is the Tornado.
- 1 ounce rum
- 1 ounce tequila
- 1 ounce vodka
- 1 ounce whiskey
- 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
- 2 ounces cola
- Stir liquor and sugar together, add ice, top with cola, enjoy.
The Buddy Holly
Of course, we have to start with a drink named after the Lubbock legend, Buddy Holly.
- 2 oz. 1941 Craft Vodka
- 2 oz. pineapple juice
- 2 oz. splash of club soda
- Combine in glass with ice, stir, enjoy.
Dirty Shirley
Just like bar hopping on Broadway, its sweet, but also a little dirty. This is the Dirty Shirley.
- 2 ounces vodka
- 1 ounce grenadine
- 8 ounces lemon-lime soda
- 1 maraschino cherry
- Combine ingredients in glass with ice, enjoy.
Tumbleweed
While it seems fun at the start, it'll sneak up on you. This is the Tumbleweed.
- 1/2 oz Frangelico Hazelnut Liqueur
- 1/2 oz Brandy
- 1/2 oz Coffee Liqueur
- 1/2 oz White Creme de Cacao
- 1 oz Cream
- Shake with ice, strain into chilled glass, enjoy.
Chilton
We have to include THE Lubbock drink, the Chilton.
- 2 oz vodka
- Juice of two lemons (about 1.5 oz)
- 5-6 oz soda
- Combine ingredients in glass with ice (salt rim if desired), enjoy.
Southern Sour
A twist on a classic cocktail, you know nothing is better than a fresh peach on a hot summer's day. This is the Southern Sour.
- 1 part of whiskey
- 1 part of peach liqueur
- 1 cup of lemon-lime soda
- Combine ingredients in glass with ice, stir, enjoy.
Ranch Water
A classic to enjoy on your porch, the Ranch Water.
- 1 1/2 ounces blanco tequila
- 1/2 ounce lime juice, freshly squeezed
- Topo Chico, chilled, to top (about 6 ounces)
- Combine ingredients in glass with ice, stir, combine.
Dusty Rose
While the flowers might look pretty now, they will be covered in dust in no-time. This is the Dusty Rose.
- 1 part Cherry brandy
- ½ part White Crème de cacao
- 2 parts Heavy whipping cream
- Shake with ice, strain into chilled glass, enjoy.
Texas Gentleman
A true gentleman enjoys his whiskey and a cup of joe. So, why not mix them together with the Texas Gentleman?
- 2 parts TX Whiskey
- 0.5 part coffee liqueur
- 3 dashes chocolate bitters
- Combine in glass with ice, garnish with orange peel, enjoy.
Texas Tea
If there are two things Lubbock love the most, it's Texas and Tea.
- 1/2 ounce blanco tequila
- 1/2 ounce bourbon whiskey
- 1/2 ounce gin
- 1/2 ounce light rum
- 1/2 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce triple sec
- 1 ounce sour mix
- Cola (about 2 ounces)
- Combine ingredients in glass with ice, stir well, enjoy.
