Beloved Lubbock Coffee Shop Announces Official Closing Date
After years of serving delicious drinks, fresh-baked pastries, and holding a safe space for all, Tumbleweed & Sage Coffee House is officially closing their doors.
They made their announcement to close in May 2023, looking for someone that would be interested in purchasing the shop as a turn-key business. I have not seen any updates as to the sale of the shop, but we now have an official closing date.
After postponing their closure through the month of Jun in order to be there to support the local LGBTQ+ community, their last day of business will be Wednesday, June 28th, 2023. They will be open from 8:00 a.m. to noon, and once the doors close, they won’t be reopening until another business takes its place.
Many people are devastated by their closure and hope whoever takes over this location will maintain the same values and keep it as a safe space for the queer community. However, there are plenty of other people that wish the complete opposite and are looking forward to their closure.
No matter what side you are on, it is sad to see how many businesses have been closing in the Lubbock area. There are so many restaurants and other small businesses in town that are closing, and it is always sad to see them go. All of these businesses are a part of someone’s dream, and I know it is devastating to have to move on from something you devote so much of your life to.
