The holidays are almost in Lubbock and that means gathering the family just in time for lots of family friendly activities. The Silent Wings Museum will hosting their Holidays on the Homefront in the Hangar Gallery. There will be lots of family friendly activities for guests to participate in such as making cardboard gingerbread houses, paper snowflakes and chains, paper dreidels and glider ornaments.

Guests are encouraged to walk through the From Promise to Production exhibit, located in the Timeline Gallery, which features some unique aircrafts. While enjoying the exhibits guests are encouraged to donate to the Community Outreach team with the City of Lubbock as they partner with the Salvation Army and Open Door. This partnership helps people in Lubbock's homeless community with the materials they need to keep them warm this Winter.

The Silent Wings Museum is offering free admission to anyone that donates items such as

  • Hats
  • Gloves
  • Scarves
  • Socks
  • Shoes
  • Coats
  • Hand/feet warmers
  • Thermals
  • Sleeping bags (blankets are not preferred)
  • Hygiene products

Free admission in exchange for those items is only available through December 17. Holidays on the Homefront will be on Saturday, December 16, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 6202 North I-27 and regular admission will apply during this event.
